ShareASale Vs VigLink Review

Affiliate marketing has become a common way of making money online, this day and age. It is a very easy way to go about making money online, if practiced correctly. Having said that, there are tons and tons of affiliate programs out there, to choose from. And because there are so many, we just don’t know which one we should go for.

Before we start the review, there is a core requirement if you wish join either program. You actually MUST have a website. There are so many hosting companies, which you can join, in order to build a website. One of the cheapest hosting companies out there, is Blue-Host. But please do look around, and see which one suits you best.

ShareASale VS VigLink

Features ShareASale VigLink
Free To Join As An Affiliate  Yes  Yes
Link Conversion and Link Optimization  No  Yes
Performance Tracking  Yes  Yes
Affiliate Education and Affiliate Program  Yes Yes
Custom Link Creation And Or Link Shorteners  Yes  Yes

I basically highlighted the key features of each affiliate network (see table above), and I did a comparison between the two. So as you can see (table above), ShareASale and VigLink are much alike.

However, the major difference between the two, is the actual link conversion. So VigLink is better off for those affiliates, looking to save time, and rather use their time to write more posts, or even start new websites. In other words, VigLink is rather convenient to affiliate members.

Is ShareASale Good

  • ShareAsale has a custom link tool, which affiliates can utilize, to shorten affiliate links.

  • Not to mention, ShareAsale has a lot of merchants, which you can join. But I noticed that the merchants at ShareASale, are somewhat strict, especially if your website is new. For example, if you want to join a merchants affiliate program, and you have a new website, you are more likely to be rejected, which is not cool, is it?

  • ShareASale has a referral program, so if you refer someone who ends up as an affiliate member, you will earn a $1 per lead. But the affiliate has to generate at least 1 click in order  to receive the 1.00.

  • If you refer a merchant, you will earn $150 per merchant.

Is VigLink Good

  • If there is a merchant which you like to apply for and become an affiliate of,  you do not actually contact the merchant (like you do at ShareASale), rather it is more of a VigLink and a merchant relationship. I have had that done, and I was accepted into that merchants affiliate program.

  • From my personal experience, I have never had an issue with VigLink, their support is awesome, they usually get back to me within 24 hours, and even less. I like the fact that I can use the Bit.ly link shortener with VigLink, it makes the affiliate links look more professional on a website.

  • Once accepted into the program, VigLink will provide you with a snippet code, which you will need to paste it into your website, and your normal links will then be converted into revenue generating links. This is all done without having you do anything. VigLink is willing to handle all the DIRTY work for you, for a fee, of course. Having said that, VigLink will take 25 percent of your earnings. For instance, if you earn $100 in commission, VigLink will take $25, and you will keep $75. But in my opinion, it is only fair, because VigLink is doing all the work for you. They save you so much time, and you can be using this time, doing something else with your blog.

  • If you refer a publisher (affiliate) to VigLink , you will earn a fee. As VigLink states on their website: “If you refer a publisher to VigLink, you will earn a referral fee equal to 35 percent of our commission for their first year. Their earnings will not be affected”. I think that’s pretty cool, as long as that publisher makes sales.

Final Thoughts

Both affiliate networks have great and useful tools for their affiliates, to utilize and succeed as affiliate marketers. So it’s a win-win situation for us as affiliates. It really depends on your preference, as they are somewhat similar to one another.

And like I said, I am a member of both affiliate networks, and I have not had any major issues with either one. And don’t forget, they are both FREE to join, so you can sign-up for both, and try for yourself. I also noticed that sometimes you might find a merchant at ShareASale, who is also signed up as a merchant at VigLink.
