Financial Benefits of Working From Home

Tax deductions

This is my favorite part of working from home. I personally hate to pay taxes, and so when I started working from home, I have been paying much less taxes than before. For instance, when you work from home, you can actually deduct expenses such as your home office and other expenses.

No Or Less Uniform Costs

Since I work from the comfort of my own living room every day, which means I don’t have to purchase any uniforms or clothes to get to work. I noticed that I spend less on clothing expenses when I started working from compared to when working for an employer.

Lower Car Insurance Premiums

Since I work from home, I commute less miles than I used to before working for an employer. So now I pay less insurance premiums. You need to check with your insurance company when you become self employed and work from home for less insurance premiums.

Less expenses For Lunches and Coffee Breaks

I don’t know about you, but I used to pay so much to purchase coffee before I started working from home. With all this said, I saved more than $1000 a year just by making my own coffee at home now.

Not to mention, I don’t have to buy lunch anymore. I cook and eat whatever is available from home.

Lower Fuel Expenses

Again, less commuting which means using the car less. So I now save on gas expenses each day. Not to mention, if for any reason you have to use your car to meet up with clients, you can write off some of these expenses, so you pay less in taxes.
