Are you having a hard time finding a niche? You are on the right page., I will show you 2 ways which you can use to help you find a niche. Coming up with a Niche is a very fun and exciting step in building a niche site.

What Is A Niche?

For those that do not know what a Niche is, it is basically whom you will be writing to. In other words, it is your target market. When you are choosing a Niche you need to choose something that you have an interest in sharing with your audience.

Having said that, A Niche does not have to be something that you know a lot about, because believe it or not, your Niche can be something you are willing to learn about and share with people. But do not forget that your Niche has to be something that you are passionate about.

How To Find A Niche In 2 Simple Steps!

A niche can be anything from baseball to internet marketing or even parenting. So as you can see it can be about ANYTHING. There is no right or wrong answer here. Remember when you are choosing your Niche, choose something that you are interested in and you will know why later on in this guide.

Any Niche can make you money online. The reason is that there are billions of people out there searching the internet for information, searching for answers, and spending tons of money on products and services every day.

When you choose a Niche that you are passionate about, your online business will less likely feel like a day job. Trust me when you choose a Niche you are passionate about, you will have fun making money online.

Why Should You Choose A Niche You Are Passionate About?

There are a few reasons why you should choose a niche which you are passionate about. For instance:

  • You are going to be creating content within your niche. And you don’t want to choose a niche that will bore you out after you have written a few posts on it.

  • Furthermore, you are going to be communicating with your audience within your niche.

  • You are going to be choosing products and services to promote within your niche. In other words, you will be recommending products and services to your audience to help them find answers.

  • You are going to be helping your audience within your Niche. So you will be answering questions about your niche to help your audience. And believe it or not, your Niche will be earning you full-time income in no time.

Don’t spend so much time on this step. Don’t worry about choosing a right niche, you can always change your niche. And trust me, this won’t be your last niche site. Once you get the hang of this, you will be eager to start your second and third niche site. This should be fun and remember this will literally replace your day job.

Let’s Find Your Niche

There are several ways which can help you find a niche, but for the sake of this guide, I will show you a couple of ways which I think should help you decide on your Niche.

I am pretty sure almost everyone has heard of Amazon before, and one of the ways to help you find your niche is actually through Amazon, and I will show you how you can do that. But before ask yourself the following two questions and write down your answers on a piece of paper.

1. First please identify your interests and passions?

2. Identify problems you can solve?

Once you have answered these questions, head on to Amazon.com and click on “Departments” and you should see all the departments listed by category (Please see the image below).

Click on the department that interests you the most or at least you are more passionate about (Answer to question 1 above). I personally love spending time with my little baby boy at home. He is almost a year old. With all this said, I will head to the department entitled “Toys, Kids & Baby”, and click on the category entitled “Baby” (Please see the image below).

How To Find A Niche

After you click on the baby category, you will see a whole lot of ideas such as strollers, feeding, car seats, nursery, and the list goes on (Please see the image below).

So from the list, I am actually interested in strollers, but of course, I can’t just talk about strollers in general, because that is too broad of a niche. For this reason, I click on Strollers and things are not as abroad as they were before, because now I see an idea which interests me, “special needs” strollers (see image below). I am excited to learn more about this kind of strollers.

How To Find A Niche

There’s an idea for a niche. All I have to do now is head on to Google and type in the Niche: “Special Needs Strollers”. You will see the following screen below.

How to find a niche

As you can see, the search results is quite high, which means that there are a lot of websites that are competing in that niche. Therefore, we need to look for something that is not as competitive. So we scroll to the bottom and we see niche ideas that are much narrower related to the “Special Needs Strollers”. Click on the first one you see there. Please see screen below.

And once you click on it, check the search results number now. It is much less competitive than “Special Needs Strollers”. See Image below. In fact, you can click on the other niches and check the number of competitive sites that are competing for that Niche.

So this is the first way to help you find your Niche. Moving along, let’s look at the second method to help you choose a niche for your blog.

First, let’s start out by answering the following question :What are your interests and passions? So this list should be a long one and that’s fine, the longer the list the better it is for you.

My interests are:

  • spending time with my family.
  • working on my blog.
  • Traveling with our cat.
  • Going to the beach.
  • Cats.
  • Money.

And your list may be longer or even shorter. That’s completely fine.

Next thing you want to do is to narrow down our list of interests. So of the list of interests you have, how many are you actually interested in? Remember what I said earlier don’t pick a niche that will bore you out after you’ve written several posts on.

With all this said, my list now looks like this:

  • Spending time with my family.
  • Working on my blog.
  • Traveling with our cat.

After you have narrowed down your list, please head on to Google and type in the first item you have on your list (for me it’s spending time with family). Again this is way too broad, I need to be more specific and I will use Google to help me narrow down my Niche even more.

So I type into Google “Spending time with family” and I check out the number of sites that are competing in that Niche. See screen below.

That’s a lot of websites competing for this niche. So again, scroll to the bottom to where it says “searches related”, and you should see a screen that looks like this:

Next, click on “Benefits Of Spending Time With family”, and check out the number of sites competing for that Niche (much lesser competing sites this time). See Image Below.

And so, Next, you could scroll to the “Searches related” and check out something that has lesser sites competing that interests you. In this case, I click on “effects of not spending time with family” and you should get results that look like this:

How to find a niche

The number of websites competing for this Niche are as follows (see image below).

As you can see, you can keep testing out niche ideas until you find something that has lesser websites competing for. And you get the idea.

Next, you want to look for products and services which you can recommend to your visitors. And one of the things I could recommend to people is to spend time with their family so they could have great times eating barbecue. And so with all this said, I recommend you start off with Amazon to use to promote products and services when it comes to your Niche site.

So when you type in ” Road trip barbecue grill” and I get a bunch of barbecues, but what I see which interests me are barbecues that are actually selling (see image below).
