Keep Your Kids Busy With Epic Books For Kids For Free

As a work at home mom, it can be a huge challenge to keep my kids busy at home, while I get some work done. One of the ways I tried to help me  keep my kids busy at home is the Epic books kids app.

Epic Books Kids

For this reason, I have decided to write my own review on the Epic Books Kids app to help you better understand what it’s like to use it and what you can expect with it.

Before we get started, please do feel free to provide any feedback or comment on any of the content I have on my site, simply leave it in the comment section below, and I would be more than happy to connect.

What Is Epic?

Epic Book is a subscription-based ebook service for kids age 2–12. There are more than 25,000 books to choose from, which can be read online or offline, on the Web, or on certain mobile devices. The books are by well known authors and major publishers. The collection includes Spanish/English, Chinese/English, and French/English bilingual books. In simplest terms, Epic is a virtual library of books.

How Much Does Epic Cost?

Epic includes a free 30 day trial, and $7.99 per month after that. As for teachers and librarians, Epic is absolutely free. But it’s too bad I am not a teacher or a librarian.

The Good

  • With Epic, you can search for books by subject, genre, and age, and some are audio or read-to-me versions where kids can follow along with highlighted words.

  • There is a reading reading Stats page, time spent reading, number of pages flipped, and books read are tracked, and kids can earn badges and rewards based on certain milestones. It encourages kids to read more.

  • Epic has a section like a community whereby kids can share opinions on books (there’s no chatting or cross-commenting). You can opt in or out at any time.

  • Epic does not have anything inappropriate for parents to worry about, parents can see everything a kids reads through their own account. It is 100 percent Safe.

  • I love that there is an online and offline reading. You can use epic while in the car, on a plane, or camping.

  • Based on the reading levels and interests of your child, epic has recommendations, which will help you know where your child stands at.

  • Parents can try a free, one-month pass before subscribing ($7.99 monthly). On the other hand, Epic is free to elementary school teachers and school librarians in the US and Canada.

The Bad

  • I wish I can read as a parent too, because I love to read during my free time.

  • If the library had more books, it would have been better. You can check out my number one recommendation for reading books here.

  • Some people may complain from the price. However, it is affordable to most parents.

  • I wish you could use it on any device.

Verdict

Epic is is a great app to have. It will definitely keep your kids busy, to help you get your work done. It is affordable. You get so much for such a very little price. And you can actually try it for free with their free 30 days trial.

However, if you are looking for something that is much more affordable and you can even read books for free (not just kids aged up to 12 years old), I recommend you check out Amazon Unlimited Kindle Membership, because you get unlimited reading from over 1 million ebooks , unlimited listening to thousands of audio books, and you can read on any device.

In essence, you can try Amazon Unlimited Kindle Membership for free for the first 30 days and if you don’t like it you can cancel before the 30 days and you won’t be charged a nickel.
