Online platforms such as Wealthy affiliate, are now offering hosting services to their members, and so we tend to question how good these hosting services are compared to well known hosting companies out there, like BLUE-HOST.

So if you want to know which is better to host with Wealthy Affiliate or Blue-Host, hopefully by the end of the post, you will have a better idea as to which one is better. And please do not hesitate to leave your feedback in the comment section below and I would be more than happy to connect.

And please note, I was a member of the Wealthy Affiliate Program, and I currently am hosting with Blue Host. So this review is based on my personal experience.

What Is Wealthy Affiliate?

Wealthy affiliate is an online platform that helps individuals start their own online business, a blog, niche site, or even an e-commerce business.  Moreover, they offer hosting services to their users as well. However, with this said, there is a catch to that, and you will know about it soon, just keep reading.

Advantages Of Wealthy Affiliate:

Just like any other platform out there, Wealthy Affiliate does have its advantages and disadvantages. So let’s start with the Advantages of Wealthy Affiliate:

  • You learn how you can start your own online business (start Niche site or even a blog). They have a free membership as well as a paid membership. With this said, the paid membership is $49 per month, but $19 for the first month. You can take advantage of the black Friday deal which is $297 US per year.

  • They teach you how to build your own website from scratch. But you only will really learn how to do that if you become a paid member. So if you are a free member, you only have access to their chat for only the first 7 days. If you choose not to continue with the paid plan, you will no longer have access to the chat and support.

  • Wealthy affiliate offers a keyword research tool, called Jaaxy. Again, I have used that keyword research tool when I was a member of the wealthy affiliate program, and so you can read my take on Jaaxy here.

  • Wealthy Affiliate has over 100 videos and training materials which you can use to help you start your own online business. But this is only available to the paid members. If you are a free member (starter member), you have access to a limited number of training material.

Disadvantages To Wealthy Affiliate?

  • Wealthy affiliate claims that you get 2 free websites when you join. This is incorrect, you will get 2 websites which are hosted on a sub-domain. So you don’t really own these sites.

  • Second of all, if you want to only host with Wealthy affiliate, you MUST become a paid member ($49 per month). So you can’t host unless otherwise you pay a monthly membership PLUS the hosting fees (domain name).

Cost To Join Wealthy Affiliate?

As mentioned earlier, Wealthy Affiliate has a free (starter) membership, as well as a premium membership. The free membership obviously costs $0, but you are limited in terms of the training material you get. On the other hand, if you join as a premium member, you will have access to all the training material to help you start your own online business which will cost you $49 per month.

What Is Blue Host?

Blue host is a hosting service. They have been around since 1999. Furthermore, they are one of the best hosting companies out there. I personally have been a client of blue host for a while, and I can’t be any happier with their service and they are affordable.

Advantages Of Blue Host

  • Technical support is available 24/7.

  • 30 day money back guarantee. So if you are not happy with the service, you can get your money back. Unlike with Wealthy Affiliate, there is no 30 day money back guarantee.

  • You get a special Intro offer. In fact, if you want to get a discount with blue host plus a free domain for the first year, you can click here to get that deal.

  • Hosting service you can truly rely on. I have never had any downtime since I started with blue host.

  • They recently launched a guide called blue spark, which is a free service to help you build a website through word press. It will help you with everything from getting started with WordPress, to installing plugins, to account access/navigation, and initial set up questions. If you are looking to start your own blog with blue host, check out this free step by step guide.

Cost Comparison of Wealthy Affiliate Vs Blue Host

As stated earlier, to join wealthy affiliate as a paid member, you will need to pay $49 a month, first month $19, or you can go yearly which will cost approximately $299 a year (black Friday deal). But that does not cover the cost of the domain which you need to pay for each year, usually costs some where between $13-$15 per year per domain.

As for blue host , they have different type of hosting plans depending on your needs. You will find something to better suit your needs (Click to see the different type of plans offered at blue host) for such a little price compared to when you host through Wealthy Affiliate.

Intro Offer I Got At Blue Host:

I got an intro offer of $3.95 per month for hosting (a while back), plus a free domain for the first year. And you can get that same deal today, simply click this link here.

With this said, it costed me around $400 CAD on a 3 year term for three domains ( including all hosting fees). That’s way less than what you have to pay per year at Wealthy Affiliate. When I was a member at wealthy affiliate, I paid well over $500 CAD per year for only ONE website.

In essence, leaving wealthy affiliate to join Blue host, was a better than great deal for me. If you want to check out what intro offer you can get with Blue host today, you can click  here to be redirected to blue host official website, and chat with one of their representatives. In fact, you might even get a better deal than I got. Blue host always has promotions running through out the year.

Affiliate Programs

Both Wealthy Affiliate as well as Blue Host run their own affiliate programs. Having said that, Wealthy Affiliate offers a recurring affiliate commissions to its users. So as long as subscribers stay subscribed, you will continue to earn commission. As for blue host, for every customers that becomes a Blue Host user, you will earn a one time affiliate commission of $65, and sometimes it can go up to $75.

But again, if you are serious about starting your own blog or niche site, you are obviously going to be on a tight budget, so you want to save and not spend. There is just no need for people to be promoting Wealthy Affiliate over Blue Host because of the affiliate commissions even though they know which one is truly better than the other.

Which One Is Better (In My Opinion)

In my opinion, if you are looking for hosting, blue host wins over Wealthy affiliate. And I am sure you might even recommend other hosting companies, but for the sake of this review, Wealthy affiliate is the weakest link here.

You might be thinking that when you pay $49 per month to become a paid member with Wealthy affiliate, you are paying for the training material that you get to help you start your blog or online business. Well let me tell you something, from personal experience, the training material that you get at wealthy affiliate as a paid member, you can get for free if you do a web-search.

In essence, hopefully now you have a better idea about whether you should go for Blue Host or wealthy Affiliate. If you have any questions about any of the above content, please comment below. I would love to hear from you. If you liked this review, please don’t forget to share it.
